Leadership
Aleksandra Banas
Chief Executive Officer
Aleks has over 15 years of consulting experience in sectors including IT, Finance, Manufacturing, Education, Aviation and Government since graduating with a double degree in Bachelor of Computer and Information Science and Bachelor of Arts. Key competencies include business process analysis, account management, training and technical writing.
Aleks spends her free time with her husband Simon and son Darcy. She also enjoys cooking, wine and travelling.
Nina Wedding
Product Manager
Nina joined the Avinet team in 2016 and has a Bachelor of Information Technology from Flinders Uni and previously worked at Infor as a Software Developer. Nina also worked for the SA Government in IT Support and has also done some Business Management for a small primary school.
Daniel Lane
Software Development Team Leader
Daniel graduated from UniSA with a Bachelor of Software Engineering with Honours and made his start working in mobile app development. He has since worked with various technologies in the web development space and always enjoys the challenge of something new. Daniel joined Avinet in February 2021, after previously working at sister company Comunet.
Daniel enjoys playing basketball in a social comp as well as video games with friends and working on hobby IT projects at home.
Liam Magee
Technical Support Manager
Liam joined Avinet in 2018 and has a Bachelor of Information Technology (Game and Entertainment Design) which he completed at University of South Australia . He was previously contracted with DXC Technology (formerly Hewlett Packard Enterprises) as IT support for the Commonwealth Bank (South Australian Branch).
Liam usually spends his free time playing video games, developing video games or looking after his pet rabbits Leeloo and Luna and cat Dinah.
Paul Lewin
Chief Information Officer
Paul has over 25 years experience in the IT industry, working within the IT sections of companies like Woolworths, KPMG and Galaxy TV. Paul has extensive experience assisting and guiding clients with their ICT strategy and technology challenges. Paul is actively involved in the operations of the company to ensure that the services provided to Air Maestro’s clients are of the highest standard.
Customer Support
Prageeth Kumarasiri
Senior Customer Support Analyst
Prageeth became a member of the Customer Support team in mid-2019. A lifelong interest in aviation motivated him to pursue studying at UniSA and receive his Bachelor of Civil Aviation in 2011. Prageeth has previous work experience in a variety of customer service roles as well as property services management.
Outside of work, Prageeth enjoys cricket, video games and listening to audio books.
Janith Rathnayake
Business Analyst & Customer Support Analyst
Janith completed his BEng in Digital Communications and Electronics from University of Hertfordshire (United Kingdom) in 2011 and completed his MBA in Project Management from Cardiff Metropolitan University in 2016. Janith was previously an Implementation Specialist for SriLankan Airlines (Commercial Department), and most recently he was a Senior Application Analyst in the IT department for Singapore Airlines.
During his leisure time, Janith likes to watch animated, rom-com, and horror movies. He also enjoys travelling and giving a helping hand to his wife when she prepares new food dishes (especially cakes and desserts).
Hasith Pathirana
Customer Support Analyst
Hasith completed a Master’s degree in Applied Project Management at University of Adelaide in 2017. He has been working in the aviation industry for the past six years, undertaking ground operation duties for Emirates at Adelaide Airport.
Outside of work, he enjoys playing cricket and video games. Although Hasith confesses he is not much of a reader, he enjoys listening to audiobooks instead.
Jonathan Liptai
Customer Support Analyst
Jonathan has a Bachelor of Information Technology (Game and Entertainment Design) which he completed at University of South Australia. He was previously contracted with DXC Technology (formerly Hewlett Packard Enterprises) as IT Support for The Department of Agriculture.
He usually spends his free time reading, listening to audio books, writing short stories, playing video games, or sometimes developing them.
Jagoda Brie
Customer Support Analyst
For over 10 years Jagoda worked in photography and design roles, before changing her career path.
With a passion for aviation and an interest in technology, she joined Air Maestro in 2023 as a Customer Support Analyst. She draws on her IT knowledge, customer service experience, and problem-solving skills to eagerly help clients navigate the software.
Outside of work, Jagoda enjoys travelling, bouldering, photography, philosophical conversations and a game of poker.
Software Development & Infrastructure
James Fahey
Senior Full Stack Developer
James graduated with a Bachelor of Information Technology from Otago in New Zealand. He's been a software developer for fifteen years and has worked in various industries including foreign exchange at Xe and real estate at Harcourts.
James enjoys reading, watching movies, gardening, archery and spending time with his wife and three children. He also enjoys learning new technologies and programming languages.
Martin Adams
Software Support Engineer
Martin started working at Avinet in December 2007, after completing his Bachelor of Software Engineering at Uni SA. For the project component of the final year of his degree in 2007, Martin worked on the first version of the exam module for Air Maestro, which led to Martin starting at Avinet.
Outside of work, Martin enjoys watching or playing almost any sport, including sport-related video games. As a result of his love of sport, Martin enjoys spending several hours at Adelaide Oval watching the cricket and the Adelaide Crows. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends and watching super hero related TV shows and movies.
Matthew Abregana
Software Developer
Matthew graduated from University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Information Technology (Software Development) in 2018. For his final year project, he worked in a small team to develop a proof-of-concept application to aid with psychological trauma in people via Mixed Reality. Matthew found his interest in IT when he worked on a major assignment for a particular course that involved designing a software application catered towards a pretend client.
Outside of work, Matthew enjoys indoor bouldering and swimming. He is also an avid Pink Floyd listener, cappuccino drinker, and an all-round creative hobbyist.
Caleb Billing
Full Stack Developer
Caleb has recently graduated from Flinders University with a degree in Information Technology (Network and Cybersecurity Systems). Before joining the team at Avinet, Caleb worked at Southcoast Animal Hospital for 4 years as a Kennel Hand Assistant and worked for BADGE Constructions for a short period of time doing software development.
Caleb enjoys spending time with his adopted greyhound Jet. He also enjoys playing computer, board, and card games with his friends.
Carl Green
Software Developer
Carl graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Software Engineering (Honours) in 2021. For his honours project he worked in a small team for a pharmacist client to develop medical reporting software to detect and identify adverse events caused by medication. He has always had an interest in computing, enjoys working with automation in personal projects, and has built computers for friends and family before and throughout the period of his university course.
He is a bubble tea enthusiast who enjoys chess, mahjong and any series that Gordon Ramsay has featured in.
Eric Ma
Software Developer
Eric graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Master of Computing and Innovation in December 2021. Before joining the Avinet team, Eric worked at the University of Hong Kong for 4 years as a tutor teaching Psychology. Eric also worked as a freelance software developer specialising in digital mental health products.
Outside of work, Eric is an active Hip hop/Locking dancer in Adelaide and enjoys playing computer games.

Bianca Stewart
Marketing & Communications
After graduating from University of South Australia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Communications in 2011, Bianca joined the Avinet team that same year. She also has over 7 years of work experience in many customer service roles.
Outside of the office, Bianca enjoys travelling, reading, visiting art galleries and spending time with her niece and nephew.
Sandra Hu
Finance & Accounts Officer
Sandra joined the Avinet team in 2019, she has 11 years’ experience working as finance officer and financial accountant across the education, retail and building industries. Sandra is skilled in financial accounting, budgeting and planning. She won The Commerce Prize for the Most Distinguished Master of Commerce Graduate in 2009 from University of Adelaide and graduated in June 2010 with a Master’s degree of Accounting and Marketing. Sandra also completed the CPA program in June 2016 and is a member of CPA Australia.
Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, taking her three young boys out to play and watch movies and is a big fan of doing fitness exercises such as boxing and Zumba!
